PhotoAccess.com Launches Digital Photo Processing Service in Japan

World's Leading Digital Camera Market Now Has Access to Top Internet Service for Obtaining Digital Photo Prints

Mountain View, CA, April 12, 2000
PhotoAccess.com Corporation, a leading Internet provider of film-quality prints from digital photos, announced today the official launch of its Japan Web site for processing digital photo prints via the Internet. PhotoAccess.com, which launched its flagship U.S. Web site in December 1999, is the first U.S. company to bring a service to Japan that allows digital photo consumers to easily upload, share and order prints via the Web. Based on the model and technology that has made its domestic Web site a success, the new site has been translated into Japanese and customized to meet the needs of the Japanese culture and marketplace. The www.PhotoAccess.co.jp service offers standard Japanese print sizes and formats, a wide variety of photo merchandise and localized delivery and payment options. PhotoAccess.com removes the barriers to obtaining high-quality prints from digital photos and provides Japanese consumers with the most convenient, cost-effective way to obtain film-quality prints via the Internet.

"Statistics have repeatedly shown that Japan has the largest segment of digital camera users," said Gene Wang, chairman, CEO and president of PhotoAccess.com. "We are very excited to bring this much-needed service to Japanese consumers who are embracing our own belief that digital photography is the wave of the future."

About The PhotoAccess.com K.K. Service
PhotoAccess removes the barriers to obtaining film-quality prints from digital photos, making digital photography a more viable and advantageous option for consumers worldwide. The Internet-based service is the easiest way to upload, share and order high-quality prints from digital photos.

PhotoAccess' free PhotoStreamerTM software automatically detects when a digital camera is plugged in, and launches the application allowing the user to upload all their digital photos and order prints with a single click. The proprietary PhotoStreamer software has been localized for the Japanese market and fully supports both PC & Mac platforms.

PhotoAccess.com also provides free, unlimited secure image storage for users who access their digital photos at least once a year. Services include user-friendly online photo albums - users can create, manage, and share multiple albums for free - and self-service access to guests for viewing images or ordering prints and merchandise. In addition, PhotoAccess.com offers the widest selection of print formats available including L, 2L, and A4 prints, and a broad range of photo merchandise including photo postcards, Japanese calendars, picture frames, t-shirts, sweat shirts (trainers), aprons and other numerous gift items. All products and services come with a complete satisfaction guarantee. If a customer is not satisfied with a print or merchandise, PhotoAccess.com will replace it free of charge or grant a full refund.

PhotoAccess' PhotoMagicTM technology ensures the highest quality prints by color-correcting each image - the result is true-to-life color in every print. This advanced technology, coupled with the PhotoDispatcherTM automated routing system, which streamlines workflow across PhotoAccess' supplier base, provides customers worldwide with higher quality, faster and more affordable order-fulfillment.

Pricing and Delivery
PhotoAccess' Japan service is competitively priced with traditional photo finishing at 50 Yen for L, 200 Yen for 2L and 1000 Yen for A4 size prints. Customers easily place orders online and can expect receipt of delivery within 3 business days via regular mail service (L and 2L prints) or express courier (A4 prints and photo merchandise). With each order, customers receive an invoice that can be brought to any post office or participating convenience store for payment. This payment method is both preferred and commonplace in Japan with many participating convenience stores located throughout the major metropolitan areas and communities. Participating convenience stores already provide receipt of payment services for utilities and other services. Online credit card and debit card payment methods are also planned.
