PhotoAccess to Offer Print@Kodak Service to Provide
Premium Digital Print Processing Over the Internet
PhotoAccess uses its new PhotoDispatcher System to enable
fast and easy delivery of digital pictures through Print@Kodak
Mountain View, CA, June 27, 2000
PhotoAccess.com Corporation, a leading provider of digital imaging
solutions for the Internet, today announced an agreement with the
Eastman Kodak Company to offer Print@Kodak as a premium service
for digital photofinishing to PhotoAccess.com customers. Kodak,
recognized globally for premium quality photofinishing, will provide
the Print@Kodak service to PhotoAccess by processing and delivering
premium prints from digital photos uploaded to the PhotoAccess.com
site. PhotoAccess will deploy its proprietary work order routing
system, PhotoDispatcher to automatically dispatch its customers'
orders for high quality Kodak prints directly to Print@Kodak.
The new agreement with Kodak, coupled with the implementation of
PhotoAccess' proprietary work order routing system, PhotoDispatcher,
will benefit customers by enabling PhotoAccess to provide the best
solution for a customer's needs, and provide the easiest and quickest
way to get premium quality prints from digital pictures.
"PhotoAccess recognizes the value that Kodak, the industry leader
in photofinishing and a brand name that consumers trust and believe
in, can add to our own products and services," said Gene Wang, chairman
and CEO for PhotoAccess. "By offering a premium service option through
Print@Kodak, PhotoAccess guarantees its customers the highest-quality
prints and services."
"Kodak's goal is to provide consumers with an outstanding experience
wherever they shop by offering the highest quality products and
services," said Nancy Carr, vice president, Digital and Applied
Imaging, Eastman Kodak Company. "This agreement underscores our
strategy of being a provider of digital services to the Internet
photography industry and making the Kodak brand as well known on-line
as it is off-line. We are very pleased that PhotoAccess is one of
our first customers."
This announcement is the latest to support PhotoAccess' vision
of providing partners and consumers worldwide with the most convenient,
cost-effective way to obtain film-quality prints from digital photos.
With PhotoAccess' proprietary PhotoStreamer software, a computer
will automatically detect a digital camera and launch the software,
allowing customers to upload all their photos with one click. And
now, with PhotoDispatcher, digital photo orders are automatically
routed across PhotoAccess' alliance of print partners-providing
the fastest turnaround, highest quality and most affordable order
fulfillment. This model supports PhotoAccess' rapid globalization
strategy, e.g. the recent launch of their Japanese service (see
release issued April 12, 2000). The launch of the Japanese Web site,
www.PhotoAccess.co.jp, makes PhotoAccess the first US mover into
the world's largest digital photography market.
Wang added, "Imagine capturing photographic memories with your
eCamera while on vacation, sending your favorite digital images
to family and friends and returning home to find photos waiting
in your mail box-all without having to connect to a PC."
"With the advent of the eCamera and PhotoChip, the next generation
of digital cameras will offer superior performance with an untethered
operation and much faster processing speeds," said Mammad Safai,
vice president and general manager of eCamera Systems for PhotoAccess.
"We are very pleased to make the eCamera and PhotoChip technologies
available and to have the opportunity to contribute toward the next
significant step in this rapidly growing market."
